NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan resident Nat Mundy received a "Millipreneur" award at the Westfair Communications first Milli Awards recently.

He is among 22 recipients of the award that honors exceptional millennials who live or work in Fairfield or Westchester counties and changing the world around them.

Mundy is Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Diamond Hospitality Group in Mount Kisco, N.Y.

The event held in Stamford recently was a fundraiser for Community Plates, a non-profit organization committed to ending American food insecurity by delivering food from businesses that have too much to people in need.

The 22 young professionals honored range in age from 21 to 34 and come from various industries.

Award categories included: Community, Millipreneur, Nonprofit, Innovation, Creative, Technology, Medical, and Finance.

The winners were chosen by a panel of five judges.

Nat Mundy, 34, was acknowledged for his entrepreneurial work in Westchester County.

He began his career as an entrepreneur running a hot dog stand and has since risen to success with Grand Prix New York (GPNY) and Spins Bowl New York.

Mundy co-founded GPNY in 2007 to provide entertainment needs to various markets.

During the recession, he took a risk and changed GPNY’s business model.

The risk paid off and since launching GPNY, Mundy and his partners have created 80 positions, tax revenue to Mount Kisco and the county, accrued over 75,000 clients, and increased tourism with 60 percent of their visitors coming from outside Westchester.

More recently, Mundy purchased a historic Lewisboro deli which will be reopened in as The Market this spring.

He is in charge of event sales at Kirby Hill Farm in Pawling, N.Y.

Diamond Properties will be turning it into a corporate and social events venue while preserving its unique ecosystem.

With Diamond Properties, he’s also founded Safe Haven Auto Storage in Mount Kisco and launched GoGoRacing Consulting LLC in New Canaan.

Mundy is on the board of Eagle Hill Southport, a school for children with learning differences in Connecticut.

He has also been involved through GPNY in such charities as Project Yellow Light and Survive the Drive, and has donated the facility for fundraisers.
