The nonprofit arts organization located at Waveny Park recently hired Arianne Faber Kolb and Eleanor Flatow who both bring "their extensive expertise in the art and business worlds to this cultural community center," according to a release from the center.
Kolb has a doctorate in art history and was a curator of paintings and drawings at the J. Paul Getty Museum and a researcher at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, according to the release. She is also involved in various capacities at the Bruce Museum, the Glass House, and the Art Committee of the New Canaan Library and is working on a children’s book on Waveny.
Flatow has an MBA and previously served as assistant vice president at Pershing LLC, a BNY Mellon Co., and before that as a specialist in American Furniture and Decorative Arts at Christie's, according to the release.
"As residents of New Canaan, they have been actively involved in the community and are committed to providing high quality exhibitions and educational programs," representatives said in the release. "They have done local fundraising: Flatow for the Nature Center and the Glass House; Kolb for the Bruce Museum; and both were on the Waveny 100th Celebration Committee, which was co-chaired by Kolb, who is a board member of the New Canaan Preservation Alliance."
Flatow and Kolb are planning the Annual Members’ Show in September and the Photography Show in January and are also planning a series of new exhibitions spanning a wide range of themes, according to the release.
The two are also launching the season with a thematic show entitled “The Barn and Beyond,” which will "re-introduce the history of the Carriage Barn to a broader audience and highlight the significance of barns in New Canaan," according to the release.
