New Canaan's Waveny LifeCare Network Appoints New Controller

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Renée Tucker has been appointed to the new position of controller for Waveny LifeCare Network in New Canaan to assure and maintain the best possible financial stewardship in a rapidly changing healthcare arena.

In this role, Tucker will provide additional oversight of the non-profit organization’s accounting department and perform as second in command for Chief Financial Officer Shaun Powell. She will also play a key part in implementing and managing Waveny’s forthcoming transition to an Electronic Medical Records system. 

“Our decision to bring Renée on board was a proactive one, which will help to guarantee solid financial oversight as we continue to grow, evolve and diversify our services in response to the changing needs of seniors,” said Bill Piper, Waveny’s chief executive officer.

A mission-driven organization committed to offering resources to meet the growing needs of older adults and their families, Waveny continues to respond to an increasing demand for community-based services – having introduced both clinical home care through Waveny Home Healthcare as well as professional companion services through Waveny at Home over the past three years.

Tucker joins Waveny with more than 15 years of professional experience in accounting and finance, including years of service within the healthcare field. 

With extensive expertise in financial review and analysis, Tucker previously served as a controller, senior financial analyst and director of corporate accounting. She is a graduate of Iona College of New Rochelle, N.Y. Waveny LifeCare Network provides a comprehensive continuum of healthcare to serve the growing needs of older adults from all areas. 

Waveny is a not-for-profit organization that offers independent living at The Inn, assisted living for people with Alzheimer’s and memory loss at The Village, and skilled nursing at Waveny Care Center.
