Support New Canaan Girl With Cystic Fibrosis At Tea Fundraiser

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — An afternoon tea will be held at Goldenberry Gifts & Gourmet to support New Canaan’s Scarlett MacAllister, who a local girl who is living with cystic fibrosis.

Scarlett MacAllister of New Canaan. There will be an afternoon tea at Goldenberry Gifts & Gourmet on Tuesday, May 3, from noon to 3 p.m., to support Scarlett, who is living with Cystic Fibrosis.

The tea will be on Tuesday, May 3, from noon to 3 p.m.

The suggested donation for the tea is $10 per person. Goldenberry will donate 10 percent of the profits of purchases to Scarlett’s fund.

The Goldenberry event is hosted with The Dish & Spoon Vintage, A British Tea Rentals Company.

Cystic fibrosis is a chronic disease caused by a defective gene and its protein product that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States, 70,000 people worldwide. 

Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
