YMCA Shows Posters of New Canaan 9/11 Responders

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – You can salute the town’s emergency responders at the New Canaan YMCA these days  – in a big way.

Huge posters of 12 police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians are on display at the YMCA. New Canaan High School senior Bryan James created the posters as part of a class project honoring first responders to the World Trade Center after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. James took pictures of the responders and sent the photos to the Inside Out Project, a global art project.

Inside Out allows anyone to upload his or her own portrait or those of others and receive a printed poster free. In return, the receiver is asked to paste the poster on a public space, where the images become part of the global art project.

Have you visited the YMCA to see the first responder posters? What do you think of Bryan James’ project? Let us know by leaving a comment below or on our Facebook page.
