Glenn Beck has completed the sale of his New Canaan home to Steve and Maura Smith for $3.6 million, Realtor Lynne Leonard-Ohrn of Lynne Leonard Realty said Friday. The deal should be finalized in about three weeks, the realtor said. Maura Smith is the general counsel for PepsiCo.
The 11,320-square-foot Ponus Ridge home had been on the market for more than a year and had an asking price of $3.65 million. It was originally on the market for $4.9 million. The house, which features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and five fireplaces, sits on 2.8 acres.
Beck, who announced earlier in the month that he would leave his Fox News Channel program, has not lived in the home since last September. Leonard-Ohrn said contingencies held up an earlier completion of the sale. She added that she had received five offers on the property and “could have sold it 10 times.”
“The market is better because people are coming down on their prices,” Leonard-Ohrn said.
Leonard-Ohrn is still working on selling the 13,500-square-foot Rosebrook Road home of JetBlue Airways founder David Neeleman. The asking price for the property is $10.9 million.
