NEW CANAAN, Conn. – How the renovations to New Canaan Town Hall will be paid for will be discussed next week by the New Canaan Board of Finance.

The finance board tabled resolutions to recommend bonding for $12 million to pay for the long-awaited renovation of the town’s main building and $3.3 million for the new tier at the Locust Avenue parking lot. The discussion will continue at a special meeting next Tuesday.

Officials plan to begin Town Hall renovations in the winter. The plan is for employees to be relocated to the second floor of the New Canaan Police Department and rental office space in the downtown area.

Seeing Rob at a Board of Finance Meeting reminds me that there was some talk about electing the Board of Finance and not including the First Selectman. Is this dead in the water?

Is it awaiting another parade to celebrate delaying the repair of Main Street for 4 years to install the $400,000 and counting, utility pole imbedded sidewalks?
