Bundle Up: Wind Chill Factor Could Hit 20 Below Tuesday In New Canaan

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Don't let the sunny skies and lack of snow fool you, Fairfield County: It's dangerously cold outside on Tuesday.

Especially on Tuesday, which will be mostly sunny and winds between 20 and 30 mph and highs reaching only about 10 degrees above zero. Some wind gusts will be up to 45 mph with a wind-chill factor as low as 20 below.

Both wind and wind-chill advisories are in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday night lows will be around 3 degrees, with a wind chill factor of 10 to 15 below zero.

The cold continues on Wednesday with a high of 18 to 20 degrees under sunny skies. It will warm up a bit on Thursday with a high of 28 to 30 under partly sunny skies.

The outlook for Friday is mostly cloudy with a high temperature around 42. The next chance for precipitation is Friday night, with a chance of rain, possibly turning to snow overnight. Any snow will turn to rain Saturday as the high temperature is expected to be near 50.
