FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Do you have a work of art you’re proud of? High school art students around the country are invited to participate in the Congressional Art Competition.
Each congressional district in the country will have the opportunity to send in a work to be judged by a panel of community artists. The winner of the district competition will be sent to be hung in the U.S. Capitol in June.
Runners up in Connecticut’s 4th District will be showcased in Congressman Jim Himes’ offices in Stamford and Bridgeport.
Winners will be announced in an awards ceremony at the Westport Arts Center Saturday May 5.
Artwork submitted must be original and can be in the form of paintings, drawings, collage, prints, mixed media, computer generated art or photography.
To participate, artists must fill out a form, found here, by April 20.
