Fairfield County's Hopes for White Christmas Wane

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Fairfield County is going to get a lot less snow on Christmas than it got on Halloween. In fact, the region looks like it's going to be pretty dry this holiday weekend.

The forecast for Christmas Eve is mostly clear with a low of 23, the National Weather Service says. And it will be mostly sunny and in the mid-40s on Christmas Day.

A map on weather.com gives Connecticut no chance of a white Christmas. Those hoping to see flakes falling will have to drive to upstate New York, Vermont or Maine.

As for the day after Christmas, which was when Fairfield County got slammed by the first in a never-ending series of blizzards last winter? The Weather Service says Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 43.
