Four Easton Teens Suspected of Pot Possession

EASTON, Conn. – Four Easton teenagers each received a juvenile summons to appear in court after an officer found several baggies of marijuana and paraphernalia in their car, Police Chief James Candee said.

An officer was driving on the Sunny Ridge Lane cul-de-sac just after 8 p.m. March 10 when she saw a vehicle parked at the end of the road, Candee said. The car began to drive away, and a passenger allegedly threw something out the window, he said.

The officer pulled the car over, and when she approached the vehicle, she noticed a strong odor of marijuana, Candee said.

Upon searching the vehicle, the officer found rolling papers, lighters, a bong, several glass smoking pipes, a couple of baggies of marijuana and “a number of roaches,” Candee said.

The four juveniles, who range in age from 14 to 16, each received a summons for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The 16-year-old driver was charged with an additional infraction for violating passenger restriction and had his license seized for 48 hours, Candee said.

All four teens were transported to police headquarters and were released to their parents.
