The dinner, held at the American Museum of Natural History, honored Giusti with the prestigious award for her work in the MMRF, an organization that has raised more than $250 million for myeloma research and that is transforming cancer research overall. Six new drugs to treat myeloma have been created as a result of the MMRF’s work.

She was honored for her work in advancing Social Enterprise Initiatives.

Giusti also serves on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, the Executive Management Committee of Stand Up to Cancer and the Harvard Business School Healthcare Advisory Board.

“Kathy Giusti is transforming cancer research. By applying her business background to take on an incurable blood cancer, Kathy is positively impacting not only the lives of multiple myeloma patients, but the lives of those living with many other forms of cancer,” said Jeffrey R. Immelt, chairman and CEO of General Electric, who also served as dinner chairman.

The award is the pinnacle of recognition by one’s peers for graduates of Harvard Business School. Giusti’s fellow honorees included Stephen A. Schwarzman, chairman, CEO and co-founder of Blackstone; and Joseph R. Perella, founding partner, chairman and CEO of Perella Weinberg Partners.
