Hundreds Of New Canaan Homes Lose Power

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Hundreds of New Canaan homes were without power early Monday evening.

According to Connecticut Light and Power, nearly 800 of the town’s customers – about 9 percent of the town's customer base – were without power as of 8:30 p.m. Monday. The New Canaan Office of Emergency Management reported that a power line at the Lakeview Avenue substation became disconnected at about 5 p.m. Power is expected to return to all customers by 10 p.m.
