Texas, a Connecticut State Police bloodhound, went missing when he pulled away from his handler during a search Wednesday night for an autistic man in the woods in Danbury. The man was found safe, but the bloodhound was missing for 36 hours. An off-duty special agent from Homeland Security found the K9 officer on Friday morning in Ridgefield, 6 miles from where he was lost, with his leash tangled in a fence . The Connecticut State Police thanked over 100 volunteers who helped search for Texas.
First Daughter Ivanka Trump visited Norwalk High School on Monday to meet with students at the Norwalk Early College Academy . She was accompanied by IBM CEO Ginni Rometty. The NECA program — offered through a partnership of Norwalk Public Schools, Norwalk Community College and IBM — allows students to graduate with both a high school degree and an associate's degree in applied sciences.
Jimmy Locust, director of the Locust Performing Arts Center in Stamford, met up backstage with an old friend — pop star Janet Jackson — at the final performance of her "State of the World Tour" in Atlanta. Locust was a featured dancer in the film for Jackson's 1989 breakthrough album, "Rhythm Nation," which included the hit single "Miss You Much."
Shylane Michelle Crooks, 50, was killed when she was hit by a car as she crossed Huntington Turnpike in Bridgeport on Monday. After striking Crooks, the 41-year-old Trumbull woman driving the 2017 BMW veered and struck a tree and a 2004 Honda CRV that was exiting a gas station, police said. The BMW's driver and the three passengers in the Honda were critically injured, police said.
Mark J. Zito, 55, of Shelton pleaded guilty to defrauding the owners of Stamford Twin Rinks , where he worked as general manager for 15 years, of nearly a half-million dollars, prosecutors said. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
Sara Flavin, 32, of Norwalk was held on $750,000 bond after she was arrested on three separate warrants on multiple charges of selling and possessing narcotics , police said.
