NEW CANAAN, Conn. Joan Lindsay Wosahla, a longtime New Canaan resident, died Wednesday, June 27, at Waveny Care Center in New Canaan after a battle with cancer. She was 74.
The daughter of Dexter and Margaret Campbell Halle, she was born and raised in Bronx, N.Y. Wosahla retired from the New Canaan Police Department this year after working as a secretary to three police chiefs over 17 years. A former resident of Ridgefield and Stamford, she was married to Robert E. Wosahla for 53 years.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, are a son, Steve (Kelly) Wosahla, of Bristow, Va.; two daughters, Karen Zeibak, of Ridgefield, and Joanne Wosahla, of Englewood, N.J.; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert C. Halle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in New Canaan. Hoyt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
