Merritt Parkway In Greenwich Reopens After Crash With Overturned Car

updated: GREENWICH, Conn. -- The southbound Merritt Parkway has reopened in Greenwich on Tuesday afternoon after an accident involving an overturned vehicle, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.  

All resulting traffic has cleared and the cleanup of the accident is complete. 

The accident was on the Merritt between Exits 28 and 27, DOT said. The left lane was blocked, and about 2 miles of traffic backup were reported, DOT said. 

The accident was reported at 2:30 p.m. The road reopened after about 20 minutes as cleanup continued.
