The proclamation recognizes the tremendous impact the Horizons Student Enrichment Program has had on the lives of New Canaan residents, and on the thousands of students it has served in our region. Horizons was founded on the campus of New Canaan Country School in 1964, and now operates at 50 sites across the country.

As part of the May 11 townwide celebration, a number of local merchants are donating a portion of proceeds from afternoon sales to Horizons, including: Athletic Shoe Factory, Baskin Robbins, Ciel Eau, crewcuts, J. Crew, KiKlo, New Canaan Healthfare, New Canaan Wine Merchants, Pyrority, Scout & Molly’s, She la la, Uncorked, Vineyard Vines, Wave and Walter Stewart’s.

At 9 p.m., Morning Joe Music, the nine-piece band led by New Canaan resident Joe Scarborough of MSNBC, will perform at South End at an event open to the public.
