NEW CANAAN, Conn. ‒ The Labor Day weekend will mean closings for New Canaan government and schools.
New Canaan Town Hall will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday. The closure also affects Vine Cottage, which houses the human services office. The town’s offices at Irwin Park, which include the Planning and Zoning, Inland Wetlands and Building departments, will also be closed Monday and reopen Tuesday morning. The town transfer station will also be closed.
New Canaan Public Schools, St. Aloysius School, New Canaan Country School and St. Luke’s School will also be closed Monday. Classes at the public schools and at St. Aloysius resume Tuesday. Classes for grades 6 to 8 at St. Luke's for grades 1 to 9 at New Canaan Country School begin Wednesday.
New Canaan Library will also be closed Monday and reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
