Newtown HS Grad Caitlyn Jenner Receives Courage Award From ESPN

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Newtown High School graduate Caitlyn Jenner was given the Arthur Ashe Courage Award during ESPN's annual awards show, the ESPYs, on Wednesday night.

Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, gave a 10-minute speech on the nationally televised awards shows. The 1976 Olympic gold medalist said she hoped to use her high profile to help change the way transgender people are viewed and treated, ESPN reported.
