No Bones About It: No Littering in Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. — A Bridgeport man threw chicken skins onto a Norwalk street Sunday afternoon, an act of littering that offended a Norwalk police officer and earned the man a ticket, according to Sgt Lisa Cotto. Although the man said no bones were in the refuse, and there shouldn't be a problem, Lt. Shawn Wong Won issued the man a citation for the infraction and his "ridiculous shenanigans."

Wong Won, who deals with quality of life issues as a community policing officer, was parked on Ely Avenue near Lexington Avenue on a patrol at 12:55 p.m. He saw the 52-year-old Bridgeport man throw the fried chicken skins onto the road from a parked car, Cotto said. Two trash cans were located four feet away.

The man argued with Wong Won and told the officer he was being prejudiced. Wong Won told him that he was "offended by his ridiculous shenanigans and should have discarded it appropriately in the first place," Cotto said.

Cotto did not say how much the man was fined.
