Justin Smith, 31, pleaded guilty in May for the seven-year sentence along with five years of probation and drug and alcohol counseling, thehour.com reported.
Authorities began investigating Smith after his daughter, Hailey was admitted to Stamford Hospital with severe injuries in 2011, thehour.com said.
Medical examiners said Hailey's skull fracture was not the result of a fall and also found hemorrhaging along her spinal column that suggests she was shaken, according to thehour.com.
