FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — After a severe snowstorm clobbered most of New England and covered Fairfield County in about 2 feet of snow, President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency Sunday morning.

The following is a statement from the White House regarding the state of emergency:

"The president today declared an emergency exists in the state of Connecticut and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from a severe winter storm beginning on Feb. 8, 2013, and continuing.

"The president's action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in all eight counties and the Tribal Nations of Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan in the state of Connecticut.

"Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize and provide at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. Emergency protective measures, including direct federal assistance, will be provided at 75 percent federal funding. This emergency assistance will be provided for a period of 48 hours."

The difference between Obama and the village idiot Republican Bush is simple. The village idiot Republican Bush spent money on wars started on lies and Obama spends it on the people of this country.

He had no choice anyways, the state asked for money and got it. Owebama HAD to give us money.
It means absolutely nothing more than CT getting $ from the Gov.
Funny, if Owebabma poops people think it smells like roses...How sad

youd think it never snowed before.

Thank You President Obama
