FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Hurricane Sandy could come up toward Fairfield County for another Halloween Storm, the National Weather Service predicts. Or it might not be that strong.
There is low potential for a major coastal storm with heavy rainfall, high winds, coastal flooding, the weather forecast said at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. That was a big difference from earlier in the day, when the projections called for strong storms to come up the coast.
The National Weather Service admitted that the storm forecast could change again depending on a low pressure system from the middle of the country.
Since Hurricane Sandy is still in the Caribbean, the forecast confidence is still low and any potential storms for the area are several days away, the weather service said.
