FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — A shot of much-needed rain could soak Fairfield County this weekend and put a damper on worsening drought conditions.
The chance of rain begins Saturday afternoon, with heavier showers expected Sunday and Monday, the National Weather Service says.
"There is the potential for around 2 to 3 inches of rainfall across the tri-state from Sunday into Monday night," the Weather Service says. "While urban and poor drainage flooding will be the main threat, there is a chance of flash flooding."
Temperatures also will cool off, dropping from around 70 on Saturday into the high 50s on Sunday and Monday, the weather service says.
