Severe Weather Alert For New Canaan

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The National Weather Service has issued an alert for severe thunderstorms for Fairfield County.

The alert stands for the entire state of Connecticut until 8 p.m. on Sunday night. 

According to the alert, the primary threat of the storm will be "damaging winds and hail."

Residents should stay within access to shelter, the alert said.
