Shoreline East Service Suspended After Amtrak Train Hits Person In Guilford

GUILFORD, Conn. — Shoreline East and Amtrak train service was stopped Friday morning after a person was hit by an Acela train just west of the Guilford East station, according to the New Haven Register.

A Boston-bound Amtrak Acela train hit the person at about 8:30 a.m. near the track intersection with New Quarry Road near the town line with Branford, the Register said. 

The condition of the person was not known. 

"Train service has been suspended indefinitely, due to police activity. ... We apologize for the inconvenience," ShoreLineEast Alerts said via Twitter ‏@SLEalerts
