NEW CANAAN, Conn. A woman suspected of stealing 10 blouses from a New Canaan clothing store is being sought by police.
The manager of the J. Crew store on Elm Street reported last Friday that the blouses, valued at $980, were taken after finding inventory control tags in a dressing room, police said. Police describe the suspect as a white woman about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing about 115 pounds. Police said the suspect has brown hair and was wearing a black skirt and a black jacket and carrying a nylon bag.

Police were looking for a man who questioned a couple of children last Friday. Police said a Hispanic man driving a green boxy vehicle approached two kids at about 6:30 p.m. as they were playing outside of a Huckleberry Hill Road home. Police said the man asked the two kids whether their mother was in a car parked in the driveway. The children ran into the home and were not injured. Police ask anyone with information on this incident to call the New Canaan Police tip line at 203-594-3544.
An employee at Lakeview Cemetery found a bag containing drugs and drug paraphernalia at about 10 a.m. Friday. The Nike drawstring backpack contained trace amounts of marijuana along with pipes and a grinder. Police are seeking the owner of the bag.
More than $7,000 in cash and goods was reportedly stolen over an extended period of time at the New Canaan Gulf station on South Avenue. Police said the shops owner contacted the department last Friday to report the thefts.
