NEW CANAAN, Conn. The reciting of an oath and a few pen strokes allowed the New Canaan Town Council to begin anew on Wednesday.
The towns legislative body took in new blood during Wednesdays organizational meeting as Republican Roger Williams and Democrat Joseph Paladino officially joined the council. Residents and other council members also welcomed back incumbents John Emert, Kenneth Campbell, Steve Karl and Tucker Murphy. Emert joined the council earlier this year after the death of Johnny Potts. Wednesday's meeting was ran by Town Clerk Claudia Weber, herself an Election Night victor.
All six members ran unopposed in the Nov. 8 general election.
The councils leadership will also have a familiar look as Mark DeWaele was elected unanimously to another term as chairman. Karl endorsed DeWaele for the post, citing his attendance record and his work in challenging times for the group.
Similar votes reinstalled Karl as the vice chairman and Kit Devereaux as the council secretary.
