Warm Weather To Stick Around, New Canaan

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The unseasonably warm January weather is likely to stick around for at least the next week.

Sunny days will be the norm through Thursday with temperatures ranging in the mid to low-40s. Winds between 10 and 15 miles an hour are likely on Wednesday. And there is a 50 percent chance of rain on Friday. Nighttime temperatures during the week will be between the low-20s and upper-30s.

The weekend will be cloudy, but with highs in the mid-50s and a 30 percent chance of rain on Sunday afternoon. Nights will see lows in the upper-30s. The warm weather might break the week of Jan. 14, a report from Accuweather.com says, when a more seasonable cold front comes through.

A cold air front will likely come through the area as a “phenomenon known as sudden stratospheric warming” that pushes old air south from the arctic region, the report says.
