August Rockwell Curcio, 71, Former New Canaan Resident

SALUDA, N.C. - August “Skip” Rockwell Curcio of Saluda, formerly of New Canaan, Conn., died Friday, Sept. 5. He was 71.

Curcio graduated from New Canaan High School and later from C.W. Post College in Brookville, Long Island, N.Y. While he spent most of his life in New Canaan, he split his final years between the Gulf Coast of Florida and the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Curcio is survived by his sons, John Peter Rockwell Curcio (Kristin), Jake Rockwell and Luke Harrison of St. John’s Creek, Ga.; daughters, Amanda Paige Duffy (Kevin) of East Allen Township, Pa., and Lisa Anne Wright of Cummings, Ga.; mother, Mary Curcio of New Canaan; and brother, Peter Samuel Curcio of Punta Gorda, Fla.  

Calling hours are Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan, with a service immediately following. Interment at the Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the August Rockwell Memorial Fund through a local Wells Fargo Bank branch, which was created as his legacy to his grandchildren.
