Emilio A. Lupinacci, Jr., 83, Worked For New Canaan YMCA

STAMFORD, Conn. - Emilio A. Lupinacci Jr., a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Thursday, Nov. 6. He was 83.

Lupinacci was born June 3, 1931, in Stamford, to Emilio and Frances Arcario Lupinacci. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Navy. He was employed at Machlett Labs for 30 years before retiring in 1986. From 1987 to 1997, he was employed with Marsh and McLennan. He was also an employee at the New Canaan YMCA.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Choir of St. Mary’s RC Church of Stamford for many years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 41 and coached many Federal Little League teams .

Lupinacci is survived by his children, Marybeth Torelli (Louis) of Stamford, Stephen Lupinacci (Valerie) of Shelton, and Thomas Lupinacci (Jennifer) of Stamford; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Barbara Moavero Lupinacci; daughter, Susan Cassidy; sisters, Gloria Hudon and Ann Altieri; and brothers, Eugene and Bernard Lupinacci.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emilio’s memory to the Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, 74 Cheshire Road, P.O Box 90, Wallingford, CT 06492.
