Michael Scarborough, 59, Former New Canaan Resident

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Michael Scarborough -- a resident of Friendship, Maine, but longtime resident of New Canaan -- died Sunday, Dec. 27. He was 59.

Scarborough spent 15 years of his career working for Connecticut newspapers, including Greenwich Time and Stamford Advocate. He moved to Maine in 1999, where he had jobs in journalism production -- as well as driving a truck for Thomaston Place Auctions.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce (Bowen) Scarborough of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother Chris Scarborough of Phoenix; brother Matthew Scarboroughand his wife, Sara and their son Michael Paul of Phoenix; brother Andrew Scarborough and his wife, Rebecca Randolph of Richmond, Va.

Scarborough was predeceased by his father, Richard Scarborough.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, at the Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 104 Limerock St., in Rockland, Maine.
