NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Erich W. Bruhn, a longtime resident of New Canaan, died Jan. 19. He was 81.
Bruhn was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Ridgewood, N.J., to Wilhelm L. and Charlotte Rangartz Bruhn. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he studied business. He served in the U.S. Army after the Korean War as a military police officer stationed in Germany.
He worked for Newsweek Magazine for 40 years in advertising, sales and marketing, worldwide. He was a participant in New Canaan's CERT program and Senior Men’s Club.
Bruhn is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Heidi (Chester) Trocha, Erich (Kristin) Bruhn, Chris (Sandy) Bruhn and Mike (Jen) Bruhn; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and grandson, Delaney.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan.
