NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan police are investigating the reported theft of $22,000 in jewelry from a home in June, according to a report in newcanaannewsonline.com.

The theft was reported July 16.

The owner told police that the jewelry, which included a sapphire ring and bracelets, was taken between June 18 and June 23, newcanaannewsonline.com said. There was no sign of forced entry and contractors were working on the home at the time, newcanaannewsonline.com said.
