On June 5, the Weston Police Department received a report that an unknown male was ringing the doorbell of a home on Ten O’Clock Lane. The female resident did not answer the door, however, a short time later she heard glass and wood breaking at the back door of the residence, police said.

The victim reported that the same man entered her residence and confronted her, police said. The man forced her to the ground and restrained her, police said.

He then took several pieces of jewelry before leaving the residence, she told police. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.

Weston police called in State Police detectives from the Western District Major Crime to assist in the investigation.

WDMC and Weston detectives collected several pieces of evidence and spoke with the victim, witnesses, and suspect.

They applied to the court for and were granted an arrest warrant for Dylan Garner, of 17 Teresa Place, Bridgeport, as well as multiple search and seizure warrants.

He was charged with home invasion, first-degree larceny, third-degree robbery, first-degree unlawful restraint and third-degree assault.

On July 28, WDMC detectives took Garner into custody and transported him to Troop G-Bridgeport, where he was processed. Garner was held on $250,000 bond pending his July 30 court date.
