Bridgeport Officer Found Not Guilty In Videotaped Beating Case

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport police officer was found not guilty Wednesday of violating a person's civil rights during an infamous videotape showing him beating a suspect during a May 2011 arrest, according to the Hartford Courant

A federal jury found Clive Higgins, 49, not guilty of violating a person's civil rights by using unreasonable force during the arrest in Bridgeport's Beardsley Park

Higgins is seen in the videotape above arriving and kicking the man.

The two other officers involved, Elson Morales and Joseph Lawlor, resigned and pleaded guilty in June to the charges, the Courant said.
