Davis, 22, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting at Kossuth Street and Maple Street on the city's East Side at 9:57 a.m. Dec. 23, police said.

He had been standing in front of the store with a small group of people when the shooter approached on foot and opened fire, police said at the time. Davis fled into the store, where he collapsed, police said.

His death was the 23rd — and last — homicide of 2017 in Bridgeport.

"Great work by the Detective Bureau and patrol division," police said. The investigation was led by Detective Jorge Cintron.
