Convertible Slams Into Jeep On First Day Of Classes At Fairfield's SHU

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield Police are looking for the driver of a convertible who slammed into a Jeep on the Sacred Heart University campus Monday afternoon, police said.

Police said the driver of the Saab 93 convertible backed up with such force that he pushed the Jeep Wrangler off the road, police said.

The driver of the Saab then got out of the car and picked up the broken pieces of the car before fleeing the scene, police said.

Officers reported no injuries in the accident when they responded at 12:45 p.m. The Jeep was parked and unoccupied, but the Jeep and another parked car were damaged, police said.

Monday was the first day of classes for students at SHU. 

Fairfield Police are asking anyone with information on the collision to call the department’s accident division at 203-254-4823.
