Enrique Silva-Hernandez, 22, of Fisk Street, was given a misdemeanor summons for two counts of reckless endangerment and failure to have proper insurance, police said.
Another driver called police to report a car traveling south on Redding Road around 5:30 p.m. was “all over the roadway,” police said. The other driver followed the silver Nissan, which sustained right-side damage when it hit the pole near Hulls Farm Road.
The 15-year-old driver did not have a license or learner’s permit, police said. None of the car’s occupants, including her 10-year-old brother who was in the backseat, was hurt.
Silva-Hernandez told police the front windshield of the car was fogging up before the crash. He also said he wished he had never considered giving his sister a driving lesson, police said.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on June 27.
