Principal Scott Hurwitz sent an email to parents on Friday, notifying them of the message that was discovered on the bathroom wall, according to the Hour. The graffiti reportedly included a threatening message and the date of Dec. 12, which is the five-year anniversary of the shooting at Sandy Hook elementary school.

Hurwitz said in his letter that school officials and police are investigating the matter, but believe that it was not anything beyond simple vandalism, the Hour reported. The incident was discussed at the school on Friday, and the Hurwitz said the school will be taking extra precautions to ensure security in the next week, according to the Hour.
