NEW CANAAN, Conn.  – Three New York men accused of committing home invasions and armed robberies in New Canaan, Greenwich, Ridgefield and New York state will face federal criminal charges.

Officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said Tuesday that Paul DiBiase, 57, also known as Carmine Stanzione, and Daniel DiBiase, 55, both of Poughquag, N.Y., and Jason Foskey, 34, of Stormville, N.Y., are charged with possession of firearms and robbery offenses stemming from incidents in Connecticut and New York. The men are charged with conspiring to travel via interstate commerce to commit a crime of violence, traveling in interstate commerce to commit a crime of a violence, using and carrying a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and felon in possession of a firearm.

All three will be transferred from state custody and will go before a U.S. magistrate in New York City. The three men were arrested last week in Harrison, N.Y., near Interstate 287.

“From New Canaan to North Castle, these alleged crooks held victims at gun point before tying them up in their own homes. Armed with firearms and body armor, these men conducted thorough surveillance before violating the sanctity of victims’ homes and ransacking their valuables with extreme violence,” said Mary Galligan, acting assistant director in charge of the New York office of the FBI. “Today, their reign of terror and violence is over.”

The men are accused of entering multiple homes in Connecticut and New York from 2011 to earlier this month to commit robberies and burglaries. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Paul DiBiase and Foskey are accused of entering homes and threatened residents, tied them up and stole jewelry and other valuables, while Daniel DiBiase is accused of driving the getaway car. Paul DiBiase and Foskey are also accused of carrying guns or replica guns during some of the robberies, officials said. In addition, the men are accused of possessing a gun belonging to a law enforcement officer on the day they were arrested, officials said.

The three men face a maximum penalty of life in prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
