Moped Driver Hit By Car In Stratford Dies From Injuries

STRATFORD, Conn. — An unidentified man who was hit by a car while riding a moped in Stratford died of his injuries on Tuesday morning, according to the Stratford Star.

Police are still investigating the crash, the Star said.

The man had been in critical condition in Bridgeport Hospital after the accident, which occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday on Canaan Road near Mary Avenue, police said. The moped was hit by a Toyota Camry, police said.

The moped was traveling south on Mary Avenue and attempted to cross Canaan Road when he was hit by the Camry, which was traveling west on Canaan Road, police said after an investigation.

The driver was knocked off the moped and suffered serious injuries, police said. 

The Camry driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.

“The accident is still under investigation and fault has not yet been determined,” Stratford Police spokesman Capt. Frank Eannotti said in a statement.
