Alexander Hartley, 23, of 10 Snowberry Lane was charged with sixth-degree larceny, interfering with an officer and third-degree criminal trespass.

Police said they were called to the store around 5 p.m. after store security had nabbed a man for allegedly putting on a pair of Timberland boots and walking out of the store. A green t-shirt was found stuffed down the man's pants after he was detained, police said. The items were worth $186, police said.

He was given a summons to appear in court and told he couldn't return to the store. He returned to the store immediately and when he was stopped by the officer he claimed he had returned because he lost an item.

“It was explained to him that he could not just walk around the store," Sgt. Sofia Gulino said. The man was told to leave.

He returned a second time to the store and told the officer he couldn't read what was on his summons. The officer then walked the man and encouraged him to leave the area. He began talking loudly to the officer and stepped towards the officer who advised the man that if he continued with his conduct he would be arrested.

"Arrest me then," said the man and the officer did so.

His bond was set at $500 and he was released to appear in court on March 3.
