Jessica Rodriguez, 34, of 22 Hackett Circle, was charged with risk of injury to a child and operating while under the influence. She was also charged with failure to illuminate rear marker plate, the charge that originally caught a police officer's eye, police said.
Just before 10 p.m. the officer noticed a defective marker light on a vehicle and pulled it over, police said. The officer discovered the odor of alcohol and had the driver perform the standardized field sobriety tests, which she failed, police said.
The driver, identified as Rodriguez, was taken back to police headquarters to perform a breathalyzer test and police said she record a blood alcohol content reading of .11, over the legal limit of .08, police said.
She posted $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 29.
