Officers stopped a vehicle July 31 for tinted windows on South Avenue near Farm Road, Sgt. John DiFederico said. Officers smelled marijuana, searched the vehicle and found a tenth of an ounce of marijuana and a multi-colored glass pipe, the sergeant said.
The operator received an infraction on possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and having an expired registration, DiFederico said.
In another stop, a 23-year-old Stamford resident was cited for suspended registration, a misdemeanor, and infraction charges of possession of a half-ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia Aug. 1, the sergeant said. Police could see a glass pipe in plain view as well as marijuana and two additional pipes during a search of the vehicle, DiFederico said.
Police saw a glass pipe in the glove box of a vehicle stopped on Smith Ridge Road on Aug. 1 when the operator opened it to get the vehicle’s registration and insurance, the sergeant said. After a search, police found a metal grinder and another glass pipe, he said.
Both pipes had a strong odor of marijuana. An infraction for possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia was issued to the resident of Montrose, N.Y.
