New Canaan Police: Thousands Swiped From Account

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- More than $11,000 was reportedly stolen from the joint bank account of two Ferris Hill Road residents, police said.

The theft occurred over a period of time dating back to November 2011 but the incident was reported on July 24, Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said.

The savings account held by the two men, one 49 years old and the other 50 years old, was repeatedly accessed from what turned out to be the same fake T-Mobile account, Ogrinc said.

A total of $11,300 was illegally withdrawn from the savings account, Ogrinc said, and the incident remains under investigation.
