When officers arrived shortly before 2 p.m., the manager was holding a photo of the suspect that he had just received from another CVS store, police said.
The officer immediately recognized the man as a suspect in a counterfeit money case at the CVS location at the Riverside Commons shopping center from the day before, Greenwich police Lt. Kraig Gray said.
Shoyn M. Johnson, 27, of 242nd St., Rosedale, N.Y., was charged with first-degree forgery and interfering with police.
Johnson allegedly told officers he had ben dropped off at the store by a man he didn’t know, police said. But officers were able to find his vehicle and discover items that had been purchased at another CVS store at 644 W. Putnam Ave. with counterfeit currency, police said.
He was held in custody on $50,000 bond for a court appearance Friday.
