Norwalk Man Faces DUI Charge In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 26-year-old Norwalk man with a suspended license was charged with driving drunk in Westport after he was pulled over early Saturday on Wilton Road, police said.

Jonathan Ortiz, of Robins Square, was stopped when an officer saw his car cross over the double yellow center lines, the arrest report said. Ortiz was subsequently asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

Ortiz was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive in the proper lane and driving with a suspended license. He was also charged for not having an ignition interlock device in his vehicle—which tests a driver’s blood-alcohol content. As of last December, Ortiz was required to have the interlock device in his vehicle, police said.

Ortiz was released after posting $1,000 bond is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 24.
