Norwalk Police Search For Man Who Attacked Teen Near Roton School

The girl suffered minor injuries in the attack near Rowayton Woods condos and was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, police said. There was no reason given for the assault.

updated: NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk police were searching Friday morning for a balding white man who approached, assaulted and cut a 16-year-old girl near Roton Middle School, according to police. 

Police are searching for a suspect described as a balding white man. Roton Middle School, Rowayton Elementary School and Brien McMahon High School, where summer programs are taking place, have been placed on lockdown.

Police are searching for the suspect along the Metro-North Railroad tracks in the area behind Roton Middle School and the nearby Rowayton Woods complex. 

Significant police presence in the area of school and surrounding streets.

State police has sent a police dog from Southbury to help with the search. A crime scene has been established.

Metro-North has stopped train traffic intermittently for the search to proceed.
