Officers were dispatched to a Greenwood Avenue home on Tuesday, Aug. 15 for a welfare check of an elderly man. A nutritionist working with the man reported that he had witnessed an argument between his client and his client's adult son, police said.
Officers contacted the elderly man, who appeared to be in good health, police said. The man told an officer about an argument he had with his adult sone, Richard Hutt, and said that during the course of the argument, Hutt struck his father in the face, according to police. There were no visible injuries and the elderly man said he was not in need of medical attention, police said. he also told the officer that this was not the first time his son had struck him, according to police.
Police arrested Hett and charged him with disorderly conduct, threatening and interfering with an emergency call. He was released on a $10,000 bond and appeared in court the next day.
